Jeff and Justin Solverson won first place during the 27th annual E.H. Queen Memorial Tournament hosted by the Four Corners Bassmasters.
The father-son duo netted a two-day total of 19.17 pounds.
A total of 41 teams entered the two-day tournament on May 17 and 18 at Navajo Lake.
Butch and Angie Colantonio caught 17.01 pounds to finish in second place, and third place was awarded to Jordan McMorris and Mitch Jarnigan, who weighed in at 16.45 pounds.
McMorris and Jarnigan also had the overall big bass at 4.64 pounds.
The tournament’s sponsors include Norma Queen, Glen and Jeanie Habor, Jim and Ladonna Schnieder and Monarch Hot Shot Trucking.
The tournament is named after E.H. Queen, a late Farmington resident who owned a backhoe service and a carwash in Kirtland.
A portion of the proceeds of the bass tournament always go to a youth baseball or softball team. This year, the tournament donated $1,000 to both the Farmington Fuel, a youth baseball team, and the Sting, a youth softball team.
