FARMINGTON — More than 50 dirt bike riders braved the jagged, sandy terrains of the Dunes OHV Park in southwest Farmington today to open the first leg of the WeBe Racing Company’s seven-round Four Corners racing series.
Riders coasted up and down steep pathways, and made plenty of sharp turns along the course.
Although many of the riders were either teenagers or young adults, plenty of children as young as 5 or 6 got in on the action, too.
Today’s event, which included team races, was the first day of the two-day event. The championship phase of the first round will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday.
There will be six more competitions across southern Colorado, western Colorado, Monticello, Utah, and Los Alamos over the next six months as part of the 2018 schedule, with Farmington hosting the final round Oct. 20-21.
