AZTEC – Christian Robison looks to keep evolving while wrestling at the next level, committing to Northwest Kansas Technical College tonight via athletic scholarship.

"Everybody that's on their team is state placers, probably up to state champs," Robison said.

Robison said he's patient, yet persistent, while on the ground, waiting for that ideal time to strike quickly.

"I'm aware of my situation," Robison said.

In his final two years at Aztec, Robison won back-to-back individual state titles in the 126-pound division. He also won a combined 95 matches during that span.

Going forward, Robison said he's wants to be more proactive attacking opponents while in neutral position and to finish shots that way.

Robison also said he hopes to eventually transfer to an NCAA Division I or Division II wrestling program a year or two from now.

NW Kansas Tech is a National Junior College Athletic Association program located in Goodland, Kansas.

Bloomfield's Gerald Wiza to join Robison

Gerald Wiza also committed to NW Kansas Tech tonight via athletic scholarship.

"It's just great to go with somebody I know, somebody that I grew up with," Wiza said.

Wiza, who placed third at state in the 170-pound division this past winter, believes he can contribute right away with his counterattacks, as well as his motor while on the mat.

"I have no reason. I have to go," Wiza said. "I wait out and feel my opponent. I have something to prove in myself, I have something to prove to people around me."
