Lady Eagles take down Thoreau in five sets, stay unbeaten in district play

FARMINGTON – Service aces and timely defensive stops propelled the Navajo Prep Lady Eagles to a five-set win (25-23, 25-10, 15-25, 22-25, 15-11) over Thoreau tonight at the Eagles Nest.

Prep remains unbeaten in District 1-3A action at 4-0, improving to 8-6 overall.

Prep took the first two sets, but lost quick points off multiple rotation violations and botched scoring chances.

Despite going all the way to five sets, the Lady Eagles again capitalized on service aces and solid defense.

Kirtland sweeps Aztec in volleyball

The Lady Broncos moved the ball effectively and had plenty of well-timed hits en route to a straight-set victory (25-18, 25-13, 25-17) tonight at Karlin Gym in Kirtland.

The Aztec girls cruised to a 5-0 win tonight at Bobcat Stadium, while the Aztec boys won 3-2 today at the Aztec Tiger Sports Complex.
