Farmington forces a fifth set for the seventh time in 2019, but Bayfield finishes strong by attacking the far corners Thursday at Scorpion Arena.

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Lady Scorpions forced yet another five-set volleyball slugfest tonight, but Bayfield won key points attacking the corners to secure the victory (25-18, 25-20, 19-25, 17-25, 15-7) at Scorpion Arena.
Bayfield opened strong with big strikes to the corners and some quick points up front, followed by some crossing hits to the far sides.
Farmington stormed back the next two sets, capped off by some critical fourth-set kills by Chloe Finch, to go to a fifth set for the seventh time in 2019.
However, the Lady Scorpions again struggled to keep the ball from touching the floor in the far corners, and Bayfield walked out victorious.
Farmington (4-6) will play in the Rio Rancho Tournament on Sept. 27 and 28.
Aztec falls at Pagosa Springs
The Lady Tigers lost in straight sets (25-10, 25-19, 25-22) tonight.
