FARMINGTON — Kirtland Central capitalized on multiple service errors and attack errors by Navajo Prep en route to a four-set win (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 25-11) in tonight’s 2019 volleyball opener at the Eagles Nest.

KC let the ball fly out to the sides or behind the baseline. Kirtland also won points when Prep’s corner attacks clipped the net.

Other times, Prep got stops up front, but those deflections went out of bounds and led to Kirtland points.

Prep made things interesting on a couple tip-ball points in the second set, tying the set at 19-19, but KC pulled ahead after a net violation by Prep and a couple key strikes to the back row.

Prep took the third set, but KC secured the win with plenty of quick points up front in the fourth set.

Navajo Prep (0-1) will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rehoboth Christian, while Kirtland (1-0) will host Farmington at 6 p.m. next Thursday.
