Jordan Curry named PacWest Pitcher of Week

FARMINGTON — Former Farmington Lady Scorpion pitcher Jordan Curry earned her second PacWest Conference Pitcher of the Week award of 2019 at Hawaii Pacific University.

Curry, a 2015 FHS softball graduate, had back-to-back shutout victories March 19 against Dominican University, striking out 10 batters over nine total innings.

Curry is the Sharks’ ace this season, tallying 125 2/3 total innings, 15 complete games, four shutouts and 65 strikeouts. Curry is 14-6 with a 2.28 earned run average.

Curry’s also hitting .288 with one home run and 13 RBIs.

Aside from her two PacWest Pitcher of the Week honors, Curry was named the PacWest Player of the Week on March 11.

Hawaii Pacific, an NCAA Division II program located in Honolulu, will play in the Turlock Tournament of Champions starting Friday at California State University-Stanislaus.
