PV softball continues hot start

FARMINGTON — The Piedra Vista softball team continued its blazing hot start on the hitting end.
PV blasted Kirtland Central in Monday’s doubleheader at Farmington Sports Complex, winning 12-0 and 13-1.
The Lady Panthers have scored 51 total runs so far in 2019.
PV (4-0) will travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the four-day Southern Warrior Classic tournament.
PV will get tournament play underway with back-to-back games at 2 p.m. Wednesday against Bryant, Arkansas and Riverdale, Tennessee.
Kirtland (5-5) will open the Kristen Griego Memorial tournament at 1 p.m. March 28 against Los Lunas.
PV, FHS baseball open Coach Bob Invite tournament play
The Panthers lost a 5-1 lead against Redlands East Valley, California, falling 7-6 Monday in Goodyear, Arizona.
The Scorpions fell 7-3 to Douglas County, Colorado on Monday. FHS then split its two games today, beating Ironwood, Arizona 7-5 and losing 3-0 to Pueblo West, Colorado.
The tournament will continue until Saturday.
Kirtland baseball sweeps Shiprock
The Broncos won both games in today's doubleheader, 4-0 and 10-0, at KCHS.
KC (6-2) will host Durango, Colorado at 1 p.m. Saturday, while Shiprock (3-4) will play in a doubleheader Noon Saturday at Pojoaque Valley.
