FARMINGTON — The North baseball and South softball teams both secured series victories in this weekend's 5A/6A All Star best-of-three competitions.

The North baseball squad, which included recent Piedra Vista graduates Chase Silseth, Cody McGaha and Deylan Pigford, jumped on the South team from the start in Friday's 8-0 Game 1 win and then overcame a 4-3 deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning of Game 2 today, winning 5-4.

The North defeated the South for the third straight year.

Meanwhile, the South softball team proved to be too much in their 7-0 and 11-1 victories over the North team Friday and today.

Piedra Vista's Cheyenne Stark and Ananda Delegarito, Bloomfield's Ashley Lewellen and Katie Nelson, Aztec's Juliana Mitchell, Farmington's Abigail Daniele and Kirtland Central's Tiana Aspaas suited up for the North team.

The 5A/6A All Star baseball series was played at the Field of Dreams Baseball Complex in Las Cruces, while the 5A/6A All Star softball series took place at University of New Mexico's Lobo Softball Field in Albuquerque.
