KIRTLAND — The Kirtland Central Broncos galloped past the Bloomfield Bobcats 3-0 in a critical District 1-4A boys soccer showdown on Oct. 3 at Bill Cawood Field in Kirtland.

Just 33 seconds into regulation, Kirtland’s Jaxon Manning fired a shot from the top left edge of the box and scored the opening goal.

The Broncos kept getting good looks attacking the outer edges, and they eventually tacked on two more goals, courtesy of Anesio Villegas and Manning, in the second half.

Bloomfield tried setting up scoring chances running down the far edges of the field, but Kirtland’s back line kept pressing and stalling BHS’s shooters.

Bloomfield also tried to get things going with simple touches through the middle lanes, but to no avail.

Kirtland’s now 13-2, 3-0 in district play. Bloomfield dropped to 8-5, 2-0 in district.
