Kirtland Central, Farmington and Shiprock all win big on the gridiron

FARMINGTON – Kirtland Central, Farmington and Shiprock all dominated the competition in tonight’s football action.

The Broncos pulled ahead in the second half en route to a 42-20 homecoming win over Moriarty at Bill Cawood Field in Kirtland.

Elsewhere, the Scorpions (68-19 at Bayfield, Colorado) and the Chieftains (53-0 at Wingate) also lit up the scoreboard.

PV falls in 5A showdown

The Panthers got key stops in the first half, but Roswell eventually ran away with a 35-0 victory tonight at Hutchison Stadium in Farmington. Roswell didn’t get its first touchdown in until about 42 seconds left in the second quarter, and then the game got out of hand.

Navajo Prep, Newcomb fall on road

The Eagles lost 42-20 tonight at Escalante, while the Skyhawks lost 52-8 tonight at Estancia.
