2019 football season begins with multiple blowout wins
FARMINGTON — Multiple San Juan County football teams lit up the scoreboard to open 2019.
Farmington pulled away about midway through in the third quarter to top Kirtland Central 55-33 tonight at KCHS, while Aztec (40-7 over Miyamura), Newcomb (38-0 over Navajo Prep) and Bloomfield (56-14 over Raton) coasted to blowout victories.
Shiprock took down Pojoaque Valley 30-27 on the road tonight in Anthony Clah’s coaching debut with the Chieftains.
Piedra Vista, meanwhile, lost 28-0 to Los Lunas tonight at Hutchison Stadium in Farmington.
FHS led Kirtland 29-27 in the third quarter before its 26-point outburst the rest of the way.
