Five area football teams still ranked

FARMINGTON — Five area football teams are hanging tough in the latest New Mexico Overtime Sports Center rankings.
Bloomfield, Aztec and Kirtland Central are ranked sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively in the latest 4A poll, while Piedra Vista stayed put at No. 6 in the latest 5A poll.
Bloomfield, Aztec and PV pulled off key nondistrict wins Friday, while KC had a bye week.
Newcomb moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest 2A poll. The Skyhawks are among 12 unbeaten teams left in the Land of Enchantment entering Week 8.
