FARMINGTON — After battling all game long, the Navajo Prep Lady Eagles eventually pulled ahead in the fourth quarter to take down Hatch Valley 66-57 in today's 3A girls basketball state quarterfinals in Rio Rancho.

It was a one or two-possession ball game for the most part.

Prep drew first blood with a 16-14 lead after the first quarter, but Hatch then clung to a single-digit lead at halftime and through three quarters.

But in the fourth quarter, Prep stormed back with a 25-12 run to end Hatch’s season at 23-6.

Prep has won 14 of its last 16 games overall.

The Lady Eagles (21-9) will take on the Robertson/West Las Vegas winner in the 3A semifinals at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in Rio Rancho.
