In total, eight teams — six girls basketball teams, one boys basketball team and one wrestling team — had events either postponed or canceled.

Some of the games were easily rescheduled while other are unlikely to find a new date.

The Shiprock at Navajo Prep girls basketball game, the District 1-4A opener for both teams, was moved to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Also moved to Wednesday are the Aztec at Farmington and Miyamura at Kirtland Central girls basketball games. Both District 1-5A games are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.

A make-up date for the Bloomfield at Gallup girls basketball game, another District 1-5A tilt, has not been set.

The Navajo Prep boys basketball team was scheduled to travel to Crownpoint to face the Eagles in nondistrict action, but the game was nixed because of travel conditions. Prep coach Rick Hoerner said he didn’t believe the game would be rescheduled.

In wrestling, Aztec was to host Durango, Colo., for a dual tonight at Lillywhite Gym. Aztec coach Monte Maxwell said rescheduling the dual is unlikely with only a few weeks left in the season.
