Aztec remains unbeaten in district

FARMINGTON — The Aztec baseball team again used late-inning heroics to stay unbeaten in District 1-4A action, taking down Miyamura 4-2 in nine innings on the road today.

The Tigers scored three runs in the top of the ninth to pull ahead for good, remaining atop the district standings.

Aztec (17-5, 6-0) has won 14 of its last 15 games overall.

AHS will host Bloomfield at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Prep’s bats ignite in twin bill

The Eagles crushed Tohatchi 24-2 and 22-6 in today’s District 1-3A baseball doubleheader at Farmington Sports Complex.

Prep (12-4, 5-1) has scored 12-plus runs in each of its last eight games.

The Eagles will host Thoreau at 3 p.m. Thursday.

PV golf teams victorious at Dolores Invitational

The Panthers won the boys title with 296 team points (217 Colorado points) today in Cortez, Colorado, as well as the girls title with 384 team points (277 Colorado points).

Trey Diehl and Tyler Diehl shot 70 and 72, respectively, on the boys side, while Shandiin Harper shot 82 on the girls side.

KC, Bloomfield baseball get district wins

The Broncos scored nine runs in the first inning en route to a 10-0 win over Gallup today, while the Bobcats hammered Shiprock 9-0 today.
