FARMINGTON — The Navajo Prep Eagles are among 3A baseball’s ranked squads for the first time in 2019, after getting back on a positive path last weekend.
Prep is No. 10 in this week’s New Mexico Overtime Sports Center poll after picking up a couple key wins, both of which came immediately following tough losses.
Despite dropping Game 1 versus Laguna Acoma last Thursday, 3-2, Prep responded with a 5-2 win in Game 2. And after dropping Game 1 to Rehoboth Christian, 8-5, on Saturday, Prep took Game 2, 14-1.
Bloomfield, FHS softball teams now ranked
The Bobcats are ninth in this week’s 4A poll, while Farmington is No. 10 in the latest 5A poll.
Bloomfield’s offense reignited last weekend, scoring 45 combined runs in its doubleheader sweeps of Shiprock and Belen.
Back at home for the first time in a month, FHS secured a doubleheader sweep of Gallup (11-4 and 17-2) last Tuesday.
PV is ranked ninth in 5A, while Aztec remains at at No. 4 in 4A.
The Farmington and Piedra Vista baseball teams are seventh and eighth, respectively, in this week’s 5A poll.
