FARMINGTON — The Bloomfield baseball team’s lineup had its first breakout series on Tuesday, crushing Pojoaque Valley 5-2 and 22-1 in a home doubleheader.

The Bobcats scored six-plus runs in three of the four innings played in the nightcap game.

It’s also the first time since March 27, 2017 that Bloomfield’s scored 20-plus runs in a single contest.

Bloomfield (6-3) will host Taos at 1 p.m. Saturday in a doubleheader.

PV softball’s late rally falls short

The Lady Panthers lost 6-4 to Bryant, Arkansas in tody’s Southern Warrior Classic opener in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Bryant handed PV its first loss of 2019.

Bryant scored its first five runs after three innings off four hits and three fielding errors.

PV drove in two runs to make it a 6-4 game in the sixth inning, but that late surge wasn’t quite enough.
