FARMINGTON — The Trotter brothers were rewarded for restoring greatness to their respective programs in 2018.

Sean Trotter, who led the Farmington baseball team to its first state title since 2008, was named the New Mexico High School Coaches Association baseball Coach of the Year today.

The Scorpion offense began to catch fire on March 22, averaging 9.8 runs a game from that day on. Farmington (24-5 in 2018) will return multiple key players for 2019.

Tim Trotter, who led the Scorpions softball team to its first state championship series since 2011, was named the NMHSCA softball Coach of the Year.

Despite falling to top-seeded Artesia in this year’s championship series, Farmington, which won just five games in 2016, won a combined 33 games in 2017 and 2018. The team also will return multiple key players in 2019.
