District titles up for grabs as seasons end
FARMINGTON — The spring sports seasons are winding down, and this week marks the final week of regular-season action for a lot of teams.
Highlighting this week's prep sports schedule is a key matchup in District 1-5A baseball when Farmington hosts Aztec at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The longtime rivals, along with Miyamura, are battling for the district crown. Heading into the final week of the season with three games remaining, Farmington and Miyamura are at the top of the standings with 6-1 records. Aztec is lurking at 5-2.
When Aztec hosted Farmington on April 13, the Scorps came away with a 4-3 win in extra innings.
Thursday will have two pivotal games in District 1-4A softball with Shiprock hosting Thoreau and Navajo Prep hitting the road to face Wingate for the final games of the regular season.
