It's Betty White's 98th birthday. Let's celebrate with one of the best Super Bowl commercials ever
Betty White turns 98 today.
The six-time Emmy winner with a small- and big-screen résumé spanning more than seven decades may be best remembered for prominent roles such as Sue Ann Nivens on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" or Rose Nylund in "Golden Girls."
But in the sports world, at least, her legacy is punctuated in easily one of the best Super Bowl commercials of all-time in which White plays the role of "Mike."
In a memorable 2010 Snickers ad, White makes an appearance in a muddy pick-up football game before getting tackled by an opposing player with authority. In the team huddle, a teammate tells "Mike" that he's been "playing like Betty White out there."
In response, White (Mike) quips, "that's not what your girlfriend says." Then, following the theme of regular Snickers ads of that era (“you’re not you when you’re hungry"), Mike is given a candy bar and morphs back into his normal self.
