Summer has heated up in Farmington

Audra Winters
Farmington Chamber of Commerce

Are you feeling hot, hot, hot? Summer is here, and the Chamber of Commerce is enjoying all that the summer has to offer.
People are always asking me how the Chamber is doing and what is going on.  The Chamber is doing very well, and there is always something going on.
The Chamber is here to help businesses and our community. That is our main focus. We know that every business is different and so are their needs. As a chamber we try to have resources available to meet those needs.
One of the resources we offer is each month one of our members hosts Business After Hours. This is a time for members to come together to network, get to know one another, or just enjoy themselves.
We also offer training seminars to our members, giving them information to help make their business more successful. The best and most helpful resource we offer is giving out referrals.
From time to time I see on Facebook people asking for recommendations. There is no need to ask on Facebook, just call the Chamber and we will be more than happy to give you a recommendation.
These are just a few of the resources we offer. For more information please feel free to call or stop by the Chamber.

Believe it or not school will be starting soon and the Farmington Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee and Animas Credit Union will be hosting the Annual New Teacher Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 10. There will be 50 new teachers this year, and this luncheon is a nice way to welcome them to their new job. We are also looking for goodies to go into the new teacher bags, so if you have items that you would like to donate, please drop them by the chamber office at 100 W. Broadway or call us and we will come by and pick them up.

Mark your calendars now: Connie Mack will be held on July 28-Aug. 6, and the San Juan County Fair will be held on Aug. 14-Aug. 19.  These are two events that you don’t want to miss out on.

Remember, you can always stop by the Chamber office for all the latest news that is happening in the community, or give us a call. Our office is located at 100 W. Broadway and our phone number is 505-325-0279. We would love to see you.
The Farmington Chamber is organized for the purpose of serving and advancing the civic and business interests of the City of Farmington and the Four Corners region.
