FARMINGTON — The Bureau of Land Management is looking for volunteers to help clean up trash in the Glade Run Recreation Area and perform trail maintenance at the Alien Run Mountain Bike Recreation Area in honor of National Public Lands Day.

The projects will run from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The National Environment Education Foundation will give volunteers free passes to any federal agency fee area in the United States. Volunteers also will receive T-shirts.

To participate, email Craig Townsend at ctownsend@blm.gov or call 505-564-7712. Tell Townsend which event you plan to participate in and how many volunteers will be in your group.

All volunteers who are younger than 18 years old must have a parent or guardian sign their volunteer form.

Gloves, sunscreen, insect spray, water, trash bags, buckets, rakes and shovels will be provided by the BLM.
