Farmington broker wins industry honors for record sales
FARMINGTON — For one Farmington real estate broker, last year was an especially good year.
Sam R. Todd, a broker with RE/MAX of Farmington on Orchard Avenue, received one of the industry's top honors for selling 120 homes or pieces of property in San Juan County in 2014. The total number of real estate transactions — excluding private sales — in the county last year was 785 properties, according to MLS.com, a real estate listing service.
Those sales launched Todd, 41, to the top of the list for New Mexico, by totaling $26 million in residential homes and land sold in the county last year.
"He works his tail off. And it's pretty impressive for how flat the market's been for so, so long," his uncle, RE/MAX broker Charlie Todd, said.
REAL Trends Inc., a communications company based in Castle Rock, Colo., published its annual list of the top 1,000 real estate sales professionals and teams in the U.S.
"You want to work hard. I'm honored," Sam Todd said. "It's not so much about sales, it is really about helping people make one of the biggest decisions in their lives. That's the joy. It's also kind of cool to have a person from San Juan County as a top-producing broker."
