Paving on U.S. Highway 64 in Farmington starts Tuesday
FARMINGTON — Crews on Tuesday will start paving U.S. Highway 64 near SunRay Park & Casino in Farmington.
Traffic delays are expected throughout the project, according to a press release from the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
Starting Tuesday, one lane will be closed in both the highway's eastbound and westbound lanes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The contractor, Kansas-based Cutler Repaving Inc., will work Monday through Friday, and some weekend work is expected.
Crews will start with lane closures in the eastbound lanes and then move on to the westbound lanes. Paving will take place along the highway from mile markers 57.72 to 58.
If the weather cooperates, the project is scheduled to be completed in mid-September.
NMDOT encourages drivers to be cautious in work zones and follow reduced speed limits and traffic control signs.
Project updates will be available on the department's road conditions website or by calling 511 or 1-800-432-4269.
