FARMINGTON — The Bonnie Dallas Senior Center is looking for volunteer drivers to help with the Meals on Wheels program.

The program provides hot meals to hundreds of senior citizens. Some of these recipients cannot leave their homes and have no family in the area, according to a press release from the city of Farmington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs department.

In the last few years, the number of seniors participating in the local Meals on Wheels program has increased while the number of volunteers has decreased, according to the press release.

The senior center believes the decrease in volunteers could be tied to an increase in gas prices.

To volunteer with the program, call 505-599-1380.
