FARMINGTON — A Newcomb resident was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday for sexually abusing a child younger than 12 years old.

Michael Randolph, 31, pleaded guilty in February to aggravated sexual assault, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Randolph is alleged to have touched the child's genitalia with his hands and fingers in December 2013, according to the press release.

After he is released from prison, Randolph will have 10 years of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender.
