Committee approves acting controller for tribe
FARMINGTON — Members of the Budget and Finance Committee have approved the appointment of Bobby White as acting controller for the Navajo Nation.
The committee voted in favor of the selection on Tuesday, according to a press release from the Navajo Nation Office of the President and Vice President.
Tribal President Russell Begaye appointed White to the position last month.
Begaye said in the release that he appreciated the committee for its support.
"This appointment will aid us in maintaining the financial integrity of the Navajo Nation as we actively find a full-time, permanent controller," Begaye said.
The president's office is evaluating and interviewing certified public accountants for the permanent controller position, according to the release.
