FARMINGTON — Diné College is hosting a series of forums this week for the three finalists who are competing for the president position.

The three candidates — LeManuel Bitsóí, Henry Fowler and Monty Roessel — will participate in one public forum each at the Diné College campuses in Shiprock, Tuba City, Ariz., and Window Rock, Ariz., according to a press release.

Former college President Maggie George was suspended and placed on administrative leave by the board of regents during a meeting on Oct. 9, 2015. Martín Ahumada, the college’s vice president of academic affairs, has been serving as acting and interim president since George's suspension.

Diné College instuctor Juanita Farley teaches a personal finance class on Sept. 15 at the school's Shiprock campus.

Fowler's forum is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 106 on the Tuba City campus.

Bitsóí's forum is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 4 on the Window Rock campus.

Roessel's forum is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 133 on the Shiprock North campus, located behind the Northern Navajo Medical Center off U.S. Highway 491.

Each forum will focus on one candidate. The forums will start with an introduction of the three candidates, followed by a question-and-answer session for the featured candidate. At the end of each forum, those in attendance can fill out feedback forms that will be given to the board of regents for review.

The forums will be broadcast at the Crownpoint, Chinle, Ariz., and Tsaile, Ariz., campuses all three nights. The Window Rock, Ariz., Tuba City, Ariz., and Shiprock campuses will also broadcast the forums not hosted at their campus.
