Victim identified in fatal vehicle rollover south of Bloomfield

FARMINGTON — State law enforcement officials have identified an Española woman who was killed Monday afternoon in a vehicle rollover crash south of Bloomfield.

Daisy Vigil, 30, was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 550 near mile marker 137 when the left front tire of her 2002 Honda passenger car blew, causing the vehicle to roll, according to a New Mexico State Police press release.

Vigil was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the press release.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene around 12:18 p.m. Monday.

Investigators said alcohol did not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to the press release.  

New Mexico State Police and the San Juan County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash.

State Police are handling the investigation.
