Police have identified the man killed Friday afternoon after walking into traffic along U.S. Highway 64 in Kirtland.

Harold Bunny, 50, of Nenahnezad, was pronounced dead shortly after deputies for the San Juan County Sheriff's Office were dispatched at 5:24 p.m. to the area near the Dairy Queen in Kirtland at 4216 U.S. Highway 64, according to Detective Lt. Kyle Lincoln of the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.

Bunny, who was intoxicated at the time, walked into the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 64 near mile marker 42 and was struck by a Ford F-250 pickup truck, Lincoln said.

The driver of the pickup truck didn't have time to react to Bunny and struck him.

Bunny was pinned under the truck and was confirmed dead when deputies arrived on scene.

No charges were filed against the driver of the pickup truck.
