San Juan Regional Medical Center CEO is chairman of New Mexico Hospital Association board
Group represents 46 hospitals and health care systems
FARMINGTON — San Juan Regional Medical Center President and CEO Jeff Bourgeois has been named chairman of the New Mexico Hospital Association’s board of directors.
Bourgeois was chosen for the position during the annual meeting on Sept. 25. He will serve a one-year term.
The New Mexico Hospital Association is an advocacy group representing 46 hospitals and health care systems.
According to a press release from the San Juan Regional Medical Center and the New Mexico Hospital Association, Bourgeois’ priorities as chairman will be continuing work in evidence-based best practices to improve patient safety and outcomes; working on initiatives to strengthen the health care work force, and improving access to care, especially in rural areas.
“There is no doubt that the health care environment will continue to face many challenges. … I am certain that, working collaboratively, we will successfully face these challenges for the benefit of every New Mexican,” Bourgeois stated in the press release.
