Just Move It event promotes fitness, health awareness

More than 2,000 participants completed a 2-mile walk or 4-mile run at Berg Park on Wednesday as part of the local stop for Just Move It, a national program that promotes fitness, nutrition and health awareness.

The program is brought to communities on and off the Navajo Nation by the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program under Indian Health Service. The noncompetitive event is free and open to all ages.

The series will visit the Huerfano Chapter house on Monday and the Nageezi Chapter house on Thursday. Registration opens at 6 p.m. followed by the start at 6:45 p.m. for both dates. Visit the Shiprock Just Move It Facebook page for a complete schedule or for more information.
