Farmington police identify man killed in vehicle crash
Motorcyclist Donald Brandenburg died Thursday night
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department has identified the man killed in a vehicle collision Thursday evening on East 20th Street.
Donald Brandenburg, 53, of Farmington, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Farmington police press release. Officers were dispatched at 5:55 p.m. to a vehicle crash between a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of East 20th Street and Cochiti Avenue.
Keaton Blair, 31, of Farmington, was driving a black Infiniti SUV southbound on Cochiti Avenue. He attempted to make a right turn onto East 20th Street. The SUV pulled out in front of the Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling west, according to the press release.
The motorcycle struck the driver's side of the SUV.
Blair was the SUV's only occupant and was not injured.
East 20th Street from North Santiago Avenue to North Mesa Verde Avenue was closed from about 6 p.m. to about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Capt. Taft Tracy.
The investigation into the collision is continuing, but alcohol did not appear to be a contributing factor for either driver, according to the press release.
