Health insurance road show comes to Farmington
FARMINGTON — The New Mexico Health Exchange, or beWellnm, and the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance are offering opportunities to learn about insurance in preparation for the 2018 Open Enrollment period. The two organizations as well as four participating health insurance carriers will host an informational health insurance road show that will travel through New Mexico this month.
The road show will feature agent and broker presentations from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday followed by community events from 4 to 6 p.m. at San Juan College's Henderson Fine Arts Center.
Open enrollment runs from Nov. 1 until Dec. 15.
“As we near the shortest open enrollment period since the enactment of the Affordable Care Act, it is exceedingly important that everyone know about their health care coverage options, and the available resources through beWellnm and OSI. The resources, education and guidance will provide information to contribute in the decision-making process about their health coverage for 2018,” said Cheryl Gardner, chief executive officer at beWellnm, in a press release.
Blue Cross Blue Shield, Christus Health Plan, Molina and NM Health Connections will have representatives at the event to answer questions about the insurance plans they offer.
People who cannot make Wednesday's event can attend webinars on Oct. 25 and 26. Reservations are required in advance for the webinars. People can register online at beWellnm.com.
