Hospital opens second heart clinic in Colorado

The San Juan Regional Heart Center has opened its new location at 480 Wolverine Drive No. 12 in Bayfield, Colo.

FARMINGTON — San Juan Regional Medical Center is expanding its heart care operations with a second clinic in southern Colorado.

The San Juan Regional Heart Center opened its new Bayfield, Colo. location today, according to a hospital press release. The clinic is located at 480 Wolverine Drive No. 12 in Bayfield

It is the fourth clinic the heart center has opened in the Four Corners region. Clinics also are located in Cortez, Colo., Aztec and Farmington.

The new San Juan Regional Heart Center in Bayfield, Colo., is staffed by Dr. Rachel Chaney.

Dr. Charles Wilkins, San Juan Regional cardiology medical director and section chief, said in a statement that opening the heart clinic will help expand medical services to patients in an area that is underserved.

The clinic is staffed by Dr. Rachel Chaney, who has 20 years of experience as a cardiologist and has been working in Durango for the last several years, according to a press release.

Some of the services the clinic will provide include the management and treatment of peripheral vascular disease, heart disease and exercise stress, as well as providing Echocardiogram testing, according to the press release.
