FARMINGTON — Navajo Ministries has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities.

Navajo Ministries, a Farmington-based nonprofit organization, received a score of 90.38 out of a possible 100 points and was notified about the results on Tuesday by Charity Navigator President and CEO Michael Thatcher, according to a press release.

Charity Navigator uses a variety of methods to evaluate thousands of charities on financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency, according to the release.

"Financial health, accountability and transparency are extremely important for our organization as we strive to fulfill our mission of helping to instill hope, restoration and Christian values in all we do," Navajo Ministries President Eric Fisher said in the release.

Navajo Ministries was founded in 1953 and is situated on a 16-acre campus at 2103 W. Main St.
