FARMINGTON — Farmington High School was briefly placed on preventative lockdown today.

Principal Tim Kienitz said the school was placed on a lockdown at about 10:30 a.m. after a possible altercation.

The lockdown was lifted at 11:48 a.m., according to police dispatchers. The lockdown was reported to dispatch at 10:51 a.m.

Sgt. Dale Bode with the Farmington Police Department said officers investigated a false report at the high school, and no arrests were made.

Police Chief Steve Hebbe said officers did not find an armed subject at the school.

Bode said many firetrucks were outside the school for a separate drill, and that made the incident appear much larger than it really was.
