San Juan Regional board appoints interim CEO
FARMINGTON – The San Juan Regional Medical Center Board of Directors has announced it has appointed an interim CEO for the hospital.
A press release the hospital issued on Tuesday stated that Jeff Egbert has been hired to serve as interim CEO after the board decided not to renew hospital CEO Rick Wallace’s contract in mid-January.
“I’m looking forward to working with the organization to personalize care for patients in the Four Corners while holding to the highest standards of safety,” Egbert said in a statement in the release.
The announcement of Egbert’s hiring came a day after Wallace’s contract ended on Monday. The board said the hospital needed to take a different direction in leadership when board members decided to not renew his contract. Wallace started at the hospital in February 2010 and had been the hospital’s CEO for six years.
Board chairwomen Janel Ryan said in the release the board is pleased to welcome Egbert to the hospital, stating he has the talent and ability to anticipate industry trends.
The press release states the search for a permanent CEO is ongoing, and Egbert will handle the day-to-day operations of the hospital until a new CEO is selected.
