Waterline installation will affect traffic

FARMINGTON – Several city streets will have restricted traffic soon or be closed due to the installation of and construction on waterlines.


Foothills Drive between Holmes Drive and Lakewood Street will have restricted use starting Monday and continuing through the middle of March, according to a press release from the city's Public Works Department. Crews will predominantly be working on the road's shoulder. In areas where the waterline crosses the road, there will be people directing traffic when crews are working on those sections. The city does not expect water service to be interrupted until March. Officials will notify residents when the water service will be interrupted, according to the press release.

Brothers Avenue from 20th Street to the alley will have periods of limited access as an 8-inch water main is replaced. according to a press release from the Public Works Department. The installation, which is currently being worked on, is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

English Road from the entrance to Target to Bering Street and from the intersection of Arctic Street and English Road will be closed starting Feb. 1 so that a new waterline can be installed. The installation is expected to be complete by March 4.
