State pageant seeks next Mrs. Farmington
FARMINGTON – The state pageant contest that leads to the Mrs. America pageant next summer is in search of the next Mrs. Farmington.
Sheree Talman, executive state director for the Mrs. New Mexico Pageant, said in a press release that the competition is seeking married women willing to compete for the title of Mrs. Farmington.
Once selected, the winner will go on to represent her community in the Mrs. New Mexico Pageant on June 25 at the African American Performing Arts Center in Albuquerque, according to the release. Local titleholders will compete to win a prize package valued at more than $8,000, which includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the Mrs. America Pageant.
Farmington's Summer Jakino-Whistle was the second runner-up at the 2015 Mrs. New Mexico Pageant and also won Best in Swimsuit and was the Director's Choice.
Applicants can be any age older than 18, but must be legally married at the time of the competition and a New Mexico resident, according to the release. No performing talent is required.
