Veterans benefits fair happening in Crownpoint
FARMINGTON – Veterans can learn about services from federal, state and tribal programs during a veterans benefits fair on Tuesday at Navajo Technical University in Crownpoint.
Representatives from various organizations and programs will be on hand to provide information to military veterans, guard and reserve members, and transitioning active-duty personnel.
Among the organizations scheduled to participate are the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services, Diné Hoghaan Bii Development Inc., the Department of Navajo Veterans Affairs, the Navajo Nation Department of Behavioral Health Services, United Health Care and Women Veterans of New Mexico.
A number of veterans service organizations will present information about health care, mental health counseling, suicide prevention, employment assistance, housing, education and legal help.
NTU teamed with the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services and Diné Hoghaan Bii Development Inc. to hold the event, which is the first one for the university.
The veterans benefits fair will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Wellness Center at the NTU campus, located on Lowerpoint Road off N.M. Highway 371 in Crownpoint.
