One person dead following crash south of Bloomfield
FARMINGTON — One person is dead after a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 550 south of Bloomfield.
The crash, which occurred shortly after 10 a.m., involved three vehicles, according to New Mexico State Police Lt. Micah Doering.
Doering said a Honda Accord and a commercial vehicle were both traveling northbound on the highway when they collided, causing the cars to cross the median into the southbound lane.
The Honda Accord was then struck by a large pickup truck heading south on the highway.
Doering said the Honda's driver died while everyone else involved walked away with only minor injuries.
The southbound lanes were closed south of County Road 5500. The lanes were reopened early in the afternoon.
