FARMINGTON — The city of Bloomfield will begin sealing cracks in several streets on Monday, according to a press release.

The streets include Mountain View Circle, North Sixth Street, Kittel Loop, Plum Tree Circle, North Heights Street, North Fifth Street, North Seventh Street, North Frontier Street, Chestnut Street, Jennings Street, Joy Lynn Street, Bergin Lane, North Ferrari Lane, Willow Street, Oakwood Street, Meadowland Street, Smith Lane and North Fourth Street.

During the sealing process, the city will also partner with San Juan County to repaint the stripes on the roads.

Jason Thomas, the city's public works director, said there will be temporary detours during the process so that the sealant can set. He said that will likely take only four to five hours.

Thomas said sealing the cracks is important because it extends the life span of the pavement.
