FARMINGTON — Residents in a west Aztec neighborhood will be without water for about 30 minutes on Tuesday, according to a notice from the city of Aztec's public works department.

The department will be installing permanent water taps on the new water main in Western Drive, leading to short outages. According to the notice, workers will try to contact residents before turning their water off.

This is not the first time this year that Western Drive residents have been without water, and the street already has been closed due to construction on the sewer outfall line. The city has provided residents with a parking lot on the corner of Newman Avenue and Western Drive where they can park their vehicle when they cannot access their house.

Public works officials stated in the notice that the brunt of the sewer outfall line project in the Western Drive area is now over. According to the notice, there will be road construction to rebuild the surface of Western Drive over the next few weeks.
