FARMINGTON — The Aztec City Commission will have a special meeting at 7 a.m. Friday at City Hall, 201 W. Chaco Ave., to amend a contract with Hutton LLC.

The developer is working to build an O'Reilly Auto Parts location on West Aztec Boulevard. The city entered into an agreement in January to fund installation of utilities and drainage projects on the property.

Commissioners expressed hopes in January that the installation of the utilities will encourage development of the surrounding parcels of land that are currently vacant.

The amended contract will change the dates of the agreement. City Manager Josh Ray said Hutton has just closed on its purchase agreement of the property. Due to the delay in the closing on the property, the dates on the contract need to be amended, he said.
