FARMINGTON — Several Aztec neighborhoods will be without water for several hours starting Tuesday night, according to a press release from the city's public works department.

The department will be turning off water at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday to replace the main 16-inch valve in the water treatment plant. The water will likely be off until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The affected homes and businesses will be between Main Avenue and County Road 2976 in an area north and east of U.S. Highway 550.

The city lists neighborhoods along McCoy Avenue, County Road 2999, Willow Lane, County Road 2982, River Pump Road, County Road 2960, El Sol Street, Santistevan Lane, Martinez Lane, Sabena Street, Long Lane, Piñon Street, Pioneer Avenue, Maddox Avenue and North Rio Grande Avenue as the ones that will be affected.

According to the press release, business such as the Aztec Restaurant and the Subway sandwich shop, which are located north of U.S. Highway 550 and east of Main Street, also will be without water.
