FARMINGTON — The city of Aztec will host a community meeting to discuss the results of a drainage study that began earlier this year.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. Thursday at Aztec City Hall, 201 W. Chaco St.

The drainage study was prompted by flooding that occurred after a storm in August 2015.

The flooding caused widespread damage to public and private property throughout the city, especially in the areas of the Blanco arroyo and the Kokopelli subdivision. The drainage study focuses on those areas and what can be done to prevent future flooding.

The engineering firm AECOM will present possible solutions to deal with the city's drainage issues during Thursday's meeting.
