Water shut-off planned for some areas of Aztec

FARMINGTON — Some Aztec residents will be without water starting Monday night as crews replace a 16-inch water valve in the water plant, according to a press release from the city of Aztec.

The water will be shut off at 9 p.m. Monday in neighborhoods north and west of U.S. Highway 550 between Main Avenue and County Road 2976. That includes McCoy Avenue, Willow Lane, River Pump Road, Santistevan Lane, Martinez Lane, Sabena Street north of U.S. Highway 550, Long Lane, Pioneer Avenue, Maddox Avenue and North Rio Grande Avenue. Businesses that are located north of U.S. Highway 550 and east of Main Avenue, such as Subway, also will be affected, according to the press release.

The water is expected to be off for four to six hours, and the city is urging customers to stock up on drinking water and store water in containers to use while flushing toilets, according to the press release.
