Aztec hires golf instructor at city course

The Aztec Municipal Golf Course has hired Richard McDaniel as the course's new golf instructor.

FARMINGTON — Residents interested in improving their golf game or learning how to play the sport can now take classes at the Aztec Municipal Golf Course.

The course, operated by the city of Aztec, has hired Richard McDaniel, of Farmington, to serve as the new golf instructor, according to a city press release.

Residents can sign up for lessons by calling the golf course at 505-334-3248.

McDaniel previously worked as an operations manager for Headwaters Golf Club in Granby, Colo., and Evergreen Family Golf Center in Evergreen, Colo.

He graduated in 1987 from San Diego Golf Academy in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., with a degree in golf operations management, according to the press release.

In addition to hiring McDaniel, the course will also allow children 18 and under to use the course for free during the month of June, the release states.
